The Carleton community based work study (CBWS) program hasn’t been as well-known as it should be, and starting in 2023-24, it became open to more students than ever thanks to the Carlson Endowed Fund for Community and Civic Engagement. Through this program, select public and non-profit community employers can hire Carleton students at no cost, and students are paid just as they would be for any other campus job. Students can find these positions on the same campus job board as all other student positions. Next year, CBWS will be hiring around sixty students for 23 types of community-based jobs.
