ACE is hiring student workers!

20 October 2010

Are you looking for an enjoyable job with purpose and meaning? The Academic Civic Engagement office is looking for a freshman or sophomore with good writing skills and some proficiency with computers and web software (or at least a willingness to learn!). Up to 5 weekly hours are available, although more can be provided starting next year. ACE works to promote the integration of classroom knowledge with community-based experiences, usually by working with both faculty members and local partners. We are a small and cohesive office with one staff member, an AmeriCorps VISTA and 5 student workers.

Job duties would include:

  • Participating in the weekly ACE meeting
  • Making updates to the ACE website
  • Being in touch with both professors and community partners to facilitate existing civic engagement classes and projects.
  • Being a resource for students who are looking for support with academic projects in the community.

To apply, please e-mail Adrienne Falcón (afalcon@carleton.edu) with a paragraph or two about your interests, experience, and relevant skills.
