Have something to say to your elected representatives? Write a letter to them this Winter, and you and your group could win a chance to present your issue to a panel of current and former federal legislators in New York City. Letters are due to the ACE Office on February 2nd. The ACE office is available for support and ideas! For questions or brainstorming, stop by the ACE Space on 2nd libe or send an e-mail to afalcon.
The Debating for Democracy Conference, a program of the Project Pericles consortium of colleges, offers students a chance to make their voices heard on today’s pressing governmental issues.
Even though last year’s contest was Carleton’s first as a Periclean institution, a group of Carleton students were selected to present their letter and won $500 to implement an advocacy campaign around their issue.
For more information about last year’s D4D conference, see the article in the last year’s Carletonian. For ideas and examples, last years winning letters are hosted on the Project Pericles website.
