Community Conversations: Beyond the Bubble

Tue, February 25, 2025 • 6:00pm - 7:15pm (1h 15m) • Leighton 236

Join us on Tuesday, Feb. 25th in Leighton 236 to discuss the relationship and connections between Carleton and the Northfield community.

Northfield's motto, "Cows, Colleges, and Contentment", emphasizes the fact that the town houses two colleges, but what does this really mean for a small, rural community? Who is left out of this motto? Does this statement accurately represent the relationship between Carleton and the community? And is there really a 'Carleton bubble'*?
Come join us to discuss these questions and more while we reflect on the connections we have and have not created with the communities around us. The event will be held on Tuesday, February 25th in Leighton 236 from 6-7:15pm**RSVP Here by February 18th at 5pm, dinner from Tin Tea will be provided!
Community Conversations are hosted by the CCCE and provide students with spaces to engage in dialogue on a wide range of topics. While it might not seem like it, by engaging in dialogue we are participating in an important part of democracy. All students are invited to attend!
