BIOL 282 Molecular Biology 6 credits
This course will explore the molecular basis for a variety of biological processes. A key question this course will explore is: How do the physical shapes and properties of biological macromolecules allow them to carry out their biological functions? Topics include mechanisms of DNA replication and repair, regulation of gene expression, cell signaling pathways, and the experimental approaches to studying these mechanisms. Throughout, we will consider the molecular basis for how these processes are carried out in biological systems.
