2019 CArtT Grant Recipients

The CArtT Committee is pleased to announce this year’s recipients of funding for collaborative projects in the arts and technology:

  • Jay Beck, Cinema and Media Studies, to facilitate customized training courses on Adobe Premier Pro and After Effects.
  • Kelly Connole, Art and Art History, to obtain a new electric kiln for the Ceramics Area and utilize the kiln technology within Art and Computer Science curriculums.
  • Andy Flory, Music, and Stephen Mohring, Art and Art History, to construct a plate reverb unit for the electro-acoustic lab in Weitz.
  • Chris Martin, English, to obtain a binaural rig for the multi-disciplinary Steps of the Sun audio walk.
  • Andrea Mazzariello, Music, to compose a technology-rich piece for Eric Cha-Beach of So Percussion, utilizing Sensory Percussion software.
  • David Musicant, Computer Science, and Stephen Mohring, Art and Art History, to support a major technology revision to the Art, Interactivity, and Robotics course.
  • Stephen Mohring, Art and Art History, to learn Python programming language for implementation in the Art, Interactivity, and Robotics course.
  • Andy Flory, Music, Stephen Mohring, Art and Art History, and Jeff Ondich, Mathematics and Computer Science, to research and produce a collaborative interactive artwork involving music, interactive computing, and physical construction.
  • Linda Rossi, Art and Art History, to create an exhibition focusing on the technical, historical, and philosophical purposes behind a series of vintage and contemporary cameras.
