Raba Tefera ’21 studied biology and biochemistry at Carleton. Now he lives in Birmingham, Alabama with a whole community of fellow Carls, and coordinates research to help make end-of-life care more equitable for children with cancer diagnoses.
Libby McKenna ’15 studied chemistry at Carleton. Now she’s a water engineer, studying how to clean our water systems better in order to help ease the effects of climate change.

A Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, Jonathan Capehart ’89 anchors MSNBC’s The Sunday Show with Jonathon Capeheart and the Washington Post Live show “First Look.” He got his start as a political science major at Carleton, where he wrote for the Carletonian and hosted a campus radio show.
Maya Warren ’07 made a million bucks as the winner of the 2014 The Amazing Race and now makes sure your ice cream tastes great as the taste-master for Cold Stone Creamery.
Jimmy Chin ’96 was an Asian studies major at Carleton and is best known as an Oscar-winning filmmaker, National Geographic photographer, author, and mountaineer.
