Help Your Student Stand Out in Interviews

By Laura Hartpence, Director of the Career Center

Hiring season is here, and whether your student is applying to internships or entry-level roles, strong interview skills are essential for success.

Your student is invited to join the Career Center, spring term, for Interview Prep Lab, a two-part program designed to help your student develop the interview skills needed to be a stand-out candidate.

In part one, your student will learn what employers are looking for in candidate interviews and will be introduced to concrete strategies for reflecting on their experiences and responding to the most common behavioral interview questions.

In part two, students will be matched 1:1 with an alumni volunteer to complete a mock interview. These virtual sessions will simulate a real first-round interview, giving students a chance to practice their responses and receive real-time feedback on their performance.

Both sessions will prioritize practice opportunities and constructive feedback to ensure that your student leaves feeling confident about their ability to share the story of their liberal arts experience in an interview situation.
