Want to dive more deeply into questions big and small about religion as a category and the religions of the world, their history, beliefs, and practices?
Students with significant backgrounds in fields across the humanities and social sciences are invited to learn more about graduate study and leadership in religion at the University of Chicago Divinity School.
MA/PhD Alumnus and Assistant Dean of Students, Nathan J. Hardy, will share information about what makes the Divinity School a community of learning in which reasoned inquiry about religion informs various kinds of professional formation, including careers in the academy, religious leadership, non-profits, government, museums, research institutes, and more.
Programs offered:
- PhD Program - The PhD program is a rigorous, interdisciplinary course of advanced study that prepares students for careers in research, teaching, and publicly-engaged leadership.
- MDiv Program - Our Master of Divinity (MDiv) program is a dynamic three-year curriculum combining coursework in the study of religion and the arts of religious leadership with significant field work in multiple settings, alongside ongoing participation in a cohort-based learning community that nurtures students’ intellectual, spiritual, professional, and personal formation.
- MA Program - The Master of Arts in Divinity (MA) is a two-year program providing a foundation in the academic study of religion and its adjacent fields.
- AMRS Program - The Master of Arts in Religious Studies (AMRS) is a one-year program for students looking to develop a broad academic grounding in religious studies.
