Isla Internships Abroad - Intern in Armenia, Bulgaria, Kosovo, India, North Macedonia, or Spain

Isla Internships Abroad (Isla) is a U.S.-based organization, founded by Returned Peace Corps Volunteers, with a mission of bringing a “mini Peace Corps experience” to students. Isla partners with universities to place students in global development internships customized to match their specific skills and interests. Isla helps create a truly immersive and “all-inclusive” international experience, where professional, academic, cultural, and social opportunities are all a part of the experience.
Isla internships are based on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and are community-based initiatives. Isla believes local people and organizations should guide development in their communities. Isla participants are partners and catalysts in making a positive impact alongside Isla's local and international host organizations and communities.
Isla works out all of the logistics for interns- from housing, airport pick-up, insurance, and more! Each of the locations has a 24/7 support team to assist interns throughout their experience!
If you are seeking international work experience in a global development context, Isla is for you! Hear more about Isla Internships and the opportunity to intern in Kosovo, Bulgaria, Spain, Armenia, North Macedonia, and India, from last year's interns, Adria Major ’27, Lucia Caputo ’27, and Executive Director, Leila Ali.
There are currently 36 opportunities in every career sector (advocacy & policy, arts, business, education, engineering, environmental sustainability, fashion, global health & medicine, history, journalism, media, technology, etc.) listed on Handshake for next summer.
