Careers in the U.S. Intelligence Community: Q&A with the Carleton Network

Wed, April 12, 2023 • 5:00pm - 6:00pm (1h) • For more information or to register, see Handshake

Join us for this special opportunity to hear directly from Carleton alumni and their trusted colleagues about careers in the U.S. Intelligence Community. Learn about the possibilities that have unfolded for them through their careers, what you should consider when exploring opportunities in Intelligence, and tips for setting yourself up for a successful career. This session will be devoted to audience questions—bring your curiosities to share with our guests, Jon Darby ’83, Reilly Simon ’16, and Dennis Bowden.

Jon Darby ’83 (Political Science/International Relations/Russian Studies) recently retired from a career in Intelligence that spanned almost four decades, culminating in his service to the National Security Agency (NSA) as Director of Operations. Jon also led some of NSA’s most difficult missions, including Counterterrorism and Cybersecurity Operations, as well as analysis and production of signals intelligence (SIGINT) in all mission areas.

Reilly Simon ’16 (Political Science/International Relations) currently serves in the NSA.

Dennis Bowden, now retired, worked as an analyst in the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) for decades. Dennis currently works on the President's daily intelligence briefing as Senior Editor of the CIA World Intelligence Review.

Questions for our guests can be asked during the session or submitted in advance to Jamila Siddiqui.
