Univ. of Minnesota-Molecular Pharmacology & Therapeutics Graduate Program Tabling
The Molecular Pharmacology and Therapeutics (MPaT) Graduate Program has conferred over 350 Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and 75 Master of Science (MS) degrees in Pharmacology, with most graduates applying their training to successful careers in academic, medical, industry, government, and regulatory agency settings. The MPaT Graduate Program currently offers MS and PhD degree programs and participates in joint degree (MD/PhD and JD/PhD) programs offered in partnership with the University of Minnesota Medical School and Law School.
Pharmacology is a highly interdisciplinary field that blends principles from biology, chemistry, medicine, and physiology to explore how drugs affect biological systems. As a science that sits at the intersection of multiple disciplines, pharmacology focuses on understanding the mechanisms by which drugs exert their effects, the interactions between drugs and cells or organs, and the broader impact of drugs on human health. MPaT works with over 80 graduate faculty labs across 18 departments with faculty research projects focused on several topics from addictions and neuroscience to cancer and immunology.
