CarlsChat with Jill Yanai '22, Development Assistant, LA84 Foundation
Jill Yanai '22, Development Assistant, LA84 Foundation will be sharing his career path through our CarlsChat program. This is a great way to explore and network with alumni in career paths that you may have interest in.
Jill works with board members, corporate sponsors, and professional teams to facilitate partnership and solicitation efforts for youth sports equity in Los Angeles. Their mission strives to invest in local communities and schools, particularly in low-income, communities of color, to bring the benefits of consistent and equitable access to sports, play, and movement for all youth. Jill's daily tasks consist of updating donor/contact lists, analyzing and compiling development reports and queries, and facilitating communications to interested donors, volunteers, board members. Jill also assists with hosting large-scale donor events for Olympic Movement and sports-engaged audiences, attending sports partner events, and organizing multi-year partner programs (i.e. US-Japan Council TOMODACHI program). Jill would say her job is dynamic, multi-faceted, and requires a good deal of critical thinking, interpersonal communication, and analytical skills (Excel, CRMs).
