Exploring Leadership: Lessons from the Polar Expeditions of Will Steger

Join Will Steger, educator, author, entrepreneur and eyewitness to the effects of climate change, for an informational conversation with Jeff Appelquist ’80. Together, they will explore some of Steger’s famed polar expeditions along with the implications for leaders across the globe.

Will Steger is a formidable voice calling for understanding and the preservation of the Arctic, and the Earth. He is best known for his legendary explorations over 50 years including some of the the most significant polar expeditions in history. He is a recipient of the National Geographic Society’s rarely-bestowed John Oliver La Gorce Medal and the National Geographic Adventure Lifetime Achievement Award.

Jeff Appelquist ’80 is the president of Blue Knight Leadership, a former U.S. Marine Corps infantry officer, practicing attorney, and corporate executive. He has more than 30 years of experience both as an entrepreneur and as a leader in Fortune 100 companies. He brings Carls to the Gettysburg battlefield as part of the annual Gettysburg Leadership Seminar.
