LTC Lunch - Welcoming LGBTQIA+ Students into the Classroom

Tue, April 12, 2022 • 11:45am - 1:00pm (1h 15m) • Weitz 236 and Zoom

This session will center on inclusivity and belonging of LGBTQIA+ students in the classroom, learning how to create a welcoming environment and integrate queer and trans topics into curricular learning goals. How do we decentralize heteronormativity and cisnormativity in our syllabi and in disciplinary canons? How can assignments and assessments reflect this? We will work together on looking at participants’ syllabi and workshopping potential assignments to mirror these goals.

Greta Hardy-Mittel ’23, Latin American Studies

Mike Kombate ’23, Political Science/ International Relations
