Lessons in Intaglio: The Legacy of Printmaking at University of Iowa
Lessons in Intaglio is a cross campus exhibition on view in both the Weitz Center for Creativity and Gould Library. The 27 works on paper included highlight recent Carleton Art Collection acquisitions by printmakers from the Iowa Print School program and influential printmaker and educator Mauricio Lasansky.
This exhibition was curated by student workers Esme Graham ’22, Lea Winston ’22, Phoebe Pugh ’22, Kamala GhaneaBassiri ’22, and Arianna Lone ’24, with special thanks to Sophie Rogers ’21, and under the supervision of Sara Cluggish, Director and Curator of the Perlman Teaching Museum. Their research was heavily influenced by Fred Hagstrom, Carleton’s Rae Schupack Nathan Professor of Art, who provided invaluable insight into the rich history of the Iowa Print School.
