Kurchi Basu '11 joined Breakthrough Houston in 2018 as the College Bound Program Director. Originally from Madison, Wisconsin, she earned a B.A. in sociology/anthropology/Latin American Studies from Carleton in 2011, as well as an M.Ed. from the University of St. Thomas. Kurchi is a former Teach for America corps member, with seven years of experience working with first-generation college-bound students in the Houston Independent School District. Join us as Kurchi shares her experiences supporting and advising students in the college process, and what that process has looked like during a global pandemic.
