LTC Lunch - Documenting Teaching Effectiveness for Student Learning, Tenure, and Promotion

Thu, April 3, 2025 • 11:45am - 1:30pm (1h 45m) • Weitz 236

Some faculty are more likely to use innovative teaching methods in addition to/other than lectures, papers, and exams. These innovative methods, while evidence-based, can have a negative impact on classroom dynamics, student & peer teaching feedback, tenure reviews, and promotion decisions. Participants will learn the research about these unique contexts and outcomes. Most importantly, they will also learn the best practices for documenting their teaching effectiveness. This is done in an interactive format such that participants can develop a strategy for their unique teaching features. At the end, participants will have an individualized plan to document their teaching effectiveness.

All faculty and staff are welcome; individuals in teaching roles and those who evaluate teaching are particularly encouraged to attend. Please bring a laptop or tablet.
