MSA Reflections on Marriage with Tamim Saidi

Fri, May 9, 2025 • 5:00pm - 6:00pm (1h) • Sayles 251

St Thomas muslim chaplain Tamim Saidi will be providing some short reflections on marriage in Islam. In the Islamic tradition, marriage is considered "half of deen", or half of one's religious practice and way of life. Thus, marriage is a significant part of the life of a Muslim. In this halaqah, we will learn about the religious/spiritual, emotional, and practical dimensions of marriage in the Islamic tradition; explore topics such as Islamic courtship, love, partnership, and rights responsibilities; and address your wonderings and questions about marriage. Come join for a thoughtful, open, and meaningful conversation!
