Following Q&A with Jason, Vogue Down MPLS will lead a session titled: “Inside the Ballroom: Etiquette, Categories, and Culture”
Session description: Step beyond the spectacle and into the heart of ballroom culture with members of the Twin Cities ballroom community. Whether you’ve watched a ball before or are entirely new to the scene, this session will break down the essential elements of ballroom etiquette, terminology, and structure. Our panelists—experienced ballroom participants and category representatives—will guide you through the fundamentals, from understanding effects and categories to interacting with commentators and judges. Learn what it means to serve on the floor, how to engage with the energy of a ball, and the unspoken rules that shape this vibrant community. This is your chance to gain a deeper appreciation of ballroom’s artistry, history, and etiquette—so you can experience and respect it from the inside out.
