Fall Term Theater Production: Anon(ymous)
Join us for the fall theater production of Anon(ymous) written by Naomi Iizuka, directed by faculty member Jeanne Willcoxon.
Naomi Iizuka’s adaptation of Homer’s The Odyssey, Anon(ymous), follows the journey of the refugee Anon as he travels through the United States and his own memory. Searching for his mother, Anon encounters others who, like him, live on the border and in the place in between: the refugees and immigrants who have travelled to the United States in the hopes of finding a home in a new country. Just as Anon’s memory of his own story returns to him, Iizuka asks us all to remember the stories of those who have left their own homes; seeking refuge in this country, they instead find rhetorical and physical violence that endangers their very lives and erases their names.
Free tickets available to reserve here.
