Guest Speaker: Wendy Sepponen
Edwin L. Weisl Lectureship in the Arts sponsored by the Robert Lehman Foundation
Wendy Sepponen is an art historian specializing in the material cultures of early modern Hapsburg territories both in Europe and the Americas, with a focus on sculpture, materials and technical processes.
She received her doctoral degree in art history from the University of Michigan in 2018 and has taught there and at Carleton College in Minnesota.
She has also worked in museums, including the Bata Shoe Museum in Toronto and the National Gallery of Art in Washington. No stranger to the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, she was recently the venue curator at the Meadows Museum at SMU for the exhibition “Alonso Berruguete: First Sculptor of Renaissance Spain.”
