Title: Data coordinations and statistical analyses for clinical research in HIV-associated meningitis

Abstract: HIV-associated meningitis/central nerve system (CNS) infections remain a public health challenge in sub-Saharan Africa. To improve the diagnosis, treatment and outcome of CNS infections, several clinical trials and observational studies have been conducted in Uganda, with a partnership between University of Minnesota and Makerere University. In the first part of this talk, I will introduce the data coordination activities that support this interdisciplinary clinical research team, as well as issues that must be considered and addressed in the data collection and data management process. In the second part of my talk, I will provide case studies of statistical analysis challenges that emerged from these clinical studies.
