- 4:30pm (1h) • Olin 141
Pacific lamprey are native to western North America where they have provided important benefits to people and ecosystems for thousands of years. However, they have declined dramatically in the last century due to human activities, such as construction of hydroelectric dams and resource extraction practices. It is crucial to determine were Pacific lamprey still persist in the western United States. Dr. Kellie Carim (’06) will share results of research she is leading to a determine the presence of Pacific lamprey across their historical range by building diverse partnerships and applying cutting edge genetic technologies across landscape scales.
