LTC Lunch - Considering A&Is from Students' Perspectives

Tue, October 10, 2023 • 11:45am - 1:00pm (1h 15m) • Weitz 236
The LTC has hosted several faculty-focused sessions about the Argument and Inquiry seminars in the last few years, but what do we know about students’ experiences A&I courses?  As they move on to more complex coursework, do students look back fondly on their A&Is?  Do they feel they were useful?  Are there things they wish their A&Is had covered, or covered differently?  This session will begin to address these questions by bringing student voices to the discussion.  A panel of 3-5 Carleton sophomores, juniors, and seniors will share reflections on their A&I courses and the ways those courses influenced their experiences in the coursework that followed.  Attendees will have time to ask questions of the panelists, and hopefully to talk in small groups.
