Arboretum Volunteer Event

Sat, February 18, 2023 • 9:00am - 12:00pm (3h) • Meet at the Carleton Recreation Center

Help restore the Arboretum by thinning red cedar trees.  Brush will be burned if conditions permit. Make sure to wear clothes that you don't mind getting dirty - red cedar sap is sticky!  Natural fabric clothing preferred as fleece and other "high tech" fabrics get damaged easily by sparks from the fire - you don't want holes in your nicest winter wear. Meet at the front of the Carleton Recreation Center to walk to the work site (snowshoes useful) or contact Arb Director Nancy Braker (nbraker@carleton.edu) for parking directions along Spring Creek Road. Please sign up for this event so that we can contact you about cancellations - winter weather is always a concern.
