30 Minutes: Hyacinth Diehl '91, CrowdStrike
Sign up for an in-person individual meeting with Hyacinth Diehl '92, CrowdStrike.
Hyacinth graduated from Carleton in '92 with an independently designed humanities major. While still a student, they were on the technical team that connected Minnesota to the Internet. Their work in the tech industry included driving the architecture of the firewall used by the US and NATO defense and intelligence communities, as well as leading large international engineering teams through various mergers and acquisitions. In 2011 they were "employee zero" at computer security firm CrowdStrike, leading the design of its embedded agents and heterogeneous distributed system. They are convinced that diverse background and humanities and social science based analysis have been key drivers of their, and CrowdStrike's, success.
