Monday: Harvest feast for the god Mars Silvanus, recipes from Cato the Elder’s book on Roman farming, 165 BCE

Tuesday: Recipes from the cookbook of Apicius, Rome’s first gourmand, first century BCE

Wednesday: In 161 BCE, Rome passed the Fannian law, restricting dinner parties to a single chicken!

Thursday: How did Roman peasants eat? Simply, but with delicious results! Recipes from Roman satirists.

Friday: A fisherman’s feast. Fish and fish products were a staple of coastal Roman life.
