Third-party electronic money collection services, such as Venmo and Cash App, are not authorized to be set up or advertised under the name or email address of a student organization or Carleton College, and cannot be linked to a Carleton College account.

Use of unapproved systems for accepting credit cards or eCheck payments exposes the College and its departments to PCI compliance risks, data security issues, and potential financial liability.

If your department needs to accept payments electronically, whether for registration, fees, goods, or services, do not engage a third-party vendor or platform independently.
