Budget changes are managed through several different processes, depending on the type of budget and the type of request:
Department Budgets
Requests for department operating budget changes are managed by division vice presidents, typically mid-fall term for budgets starting in the next fiscal year (ex: October 2023 request for a change starting in July 2024). Talk to your supervisor or division leaders for more information
Student Employment Budgets
Requests are managed by the budget office; see details on a separate tab
Technology / Facilities / Classroom
Requests are collected annually in mid-fall term; the process and directions are shared via campus email. Requests made through this process are managed by three separate committees; see details on the facilities website, in the campus handbook, and the provost’s office website
Staffing or Compensation Changes
Requests for new positions follow the same process as Department Budgets (see above); requests for existing positions (job changes or salary changes) are managed by Human Resources and approved by a subcommittee of the president’s cabinet on a biweekly basis
Capital Projects
Building and grounds renovations and upgrades are managed by facilities, with oversight by the Capital Funding & Planning Committee
