Mark McKone and two Carleton Biology grads publish a paper on Arb prairies

23 August 2021

Mark McKone, Towsley Professor of Biology, and two Biology majors, Evelyn Williams (’05) and Jared Beck (’14), have recently published a paper in the Journal of Vegetation Science.  The title is “Evidence for local-scale community assembly processes from long-term observations of biodiversity in a grassland chronosequence.”  The paper analyzes how diversity of the plant community has changed in the large prairie plantings in the Lower Arb.  The data were collected from 2000 to 2019 with the help of dozens of Carleton students.
