Biology Professor Dan Hernández co-authors paper with two Carleton alums on the ecological impacts of regenerative agriculture.

Dan Hernández, Professor of Biology, Maya Gabor ’24 (Geology), and Maya Hofmann ’23 (Biology), published a paper titled, “Poultry grazing accelerates the ecological benefits of perennialization in a regenerative agroforestry system” in the journal Agroecology and Sustainable Food Systems. The research was done in collaboration with two Northfield-area farms in the Regenerative Agriculture Alliance. Both Mayas are currently studying agroecology in the same graduate program at Pennsylvania State University.

Maya Gabor ’24 (Geology) and Maya Hofmann ’23 (Biology) collaborated on the paper.
