Hiring Lab Manager for Holgerson Lab at Cornell University (application deadline 1/21) Outside link
3 January 2024The Holgerson Lab of Aquatic Ecology at Cornell University is hiring a lab manager. Our lab studies freshwater community and ecosystem ecology, including how organism and ecosystem processes interact and respond to environmental change. Current research in the lab focuses on freshwater greenhouse gas production and emissions, carbon sequestration, ecosystem metabolism, physical water column mixing, and phytoplankton communities. We mostly work on ponds and small or shallow lakes (but we dabble in wetlands and larger lakes, too!). The lab manager will work closely with PI Holgerson and the rest of our team to provide support for field projects and laboratory research. The position will ideally start in April or early May (a bit flexible) in order to overlap with the current lab manager before she leaves for graduate school.

North Dakota State University CHANGE program for recent college graduates (application deadline 1/14/24) Outside link
14 December 2023This is the 2nd year of the NDSU CHANGE program, which provides year-long mentored research experiences to recent college graduates. Participants will work on integrative research projects exploring how organisms respond to and succeed (or not) in changing environments.
Our program is an excellent opportunity for students who’ve had limited or no research experiences, and are interested in biology research. The CHANGE program encourages applications from first-generation college students, students from low-income households, and applicants from other underrepresented groups.
Participants will join a cohort of recently graduated students and will be immersed in hands-on research during our year-long program. Students earn $32,500, with an additional $4,000 to cover health care expenses.
