STEM Teaching Experiences for Undergraduates

30 November 2018

The Teaching Experiences for Undergraduates (TEU) program is accepting applications for the summer 2019 math and science programs. TEU provides a rich summer experience for undergraduates from 61 partner liberal arts institutions (including Carleton) who are interested in secondary STEM teaching careers.

The science TEU program is a seven-week immersive experience in secondary science education at Trinity College in Hartford, CT, funded by the National Science Foundation. TEU participants earn a generous stipend, take a 60-hour course in science pedagogy, and apply what they’re learning to teaching urban high school students under the supervision of a master teacher-mentor. Program start date: June 3, 2019.

The math TEU program is a six-week immersive experience in secondary mathematics education at Brown University in Providence, RI, funded by the National Science Foundation. TEU participants earn a generous stipend, take a 60-hour course in mathematics pedagogy, and apply what they’re learning to teaching urban high school students under the supervision of a master teacher-mentor. Program start date: June 17, 2019 (subject to change of up to a week).

The application deadline for both programs is February 28th.
