Caltech WAVE Fellows Undergraduate Summer Research Program, Includes Housing and Stipend (applications due 1/10/25) Outside link
31 October 2024The WAVE Fellows program supports Caltech’s commitment to diversity by increasing visibility and accessibility to Caltech’s PhD programs to undergraduates in STEM fields who are seriously considering attending graduate school. WAVE Fellows is a 10-week undergraduate research program that provides robust programming in the areas of academic and professional development.
Eligibility: Students must be current sophomores through non-graduating seniors and must be U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents, or students with DACA status. A minimum GPA of 3.4 is required.
Competitive applicants will have completed sophomore-level courses in desired research field, have demonstrated through academic and/or co-curricular activities a passion for research, and can articulate how their research interests align with Caltech’s research areas. The most competitive applicants will have prior research experience.
Support: WAVE Fellows will receive a $6,000 award for the 10-week period, plus campus housing and a dining and travel supplement of ~$1,000.

Washington University in St. Louis ENDURE Summer Research Program, Includes Housing and Stipend (applications due 2/3/25) Outside link
31 October 2024Enhancing Neuroscience Diversity through Undergraduate Research Education Experiences (ENDURE) prepares undergraduates from diverse backgrounds for neuroscience PhD programs. Accepted students are funded for up to two years. The program combines independent research, a rigorous academic and professional development curriculum, and an empowering support system so participants thrive on their path to graduate school and beyond. Benefits include a $7000 stipend per summer, travel to and from the program, housing, eligibility for academic year research stipend ($2000 per semester for up to two academic years) and funds to attend up to two scientific conferences annually. Applications are due by Feb. 3, 2025.

28 October 2024Bruins-In-Genomics (B.I.G.) Summer Research Program is an 8-week full-time immersion program for undergraduates interested in learning how to read and analyze genes and genomes. Through this program students will have the opportunity to experience graduate-level coursework, and learn the latest cutting-edge research, tools and methods used by leading scientists to solve real-world problems. University of Notre Dame Environmental Research Center Summer 2025 Biology Field Program (Housing & Stipend included) Outside link

University of San Diego Paid Summer Undergraduate STEM Education Research Program (application deadline 4/15/24) Outside link
18 March 2024Do you want to learn how to make a difference in STEM Education? The VERSA (Virtual Education Research in STEM Academy) @ University of California, San Diego program is looking for undergraduate students who want to conduct research on STEM education at the college level this summer. Our faculty mentors study teaching and learning in a variety of STEM disciplines, including astronomy, biology, chemistry, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and psychology. It is a hybrid program: the first and last full weeks are in person, while the other weeks are virtual- meaning you can do research from home! The program is 9 weeks, from June 20-Aug. 20. Each VERSA student will receive a $5,400 stipend and an additional $1,255 allowance for housing and food. Applications due April 15, 2024. -

Research Assistant Internship in the Escolano Lab at the Wistar Institute (application deadline 3/10/24) Outside link
1 March 2024The Escolano Lab investigates the use of sequential immunization as a novel vaccination strategy aiming to induce broadly neutralizing antibodies against highly diverse viruses. Using HIV-1 as a model virus, state-of-the-art technologies, and animal models including wild-type mice, transgenic mice, and rhesus macaques, the laboratory studies the humoral and cellular immune responses to sequential immunization. The goal of this research is to identify guidelines for the design of vaccination approaches to induce long-lasting protection against highly mutating viruses in humans.
