Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center has two 10-week programs in New York, NY for students interested in research experience in biochemistry. The MISP program focuses on laboratory-based translational molecular imaging research. The ChBSP program is targeted for students interested in pursuing a career at the intersection of chemistry and biomedicine.
Students will adapt their skills to answer biomedicaly-focused research questions in cutting-edge laboratories and interact with professionals in the field. They will also have the opportunity to attend weekly seminar series presented by faculty and attend professional development workshops. Students will partner with faculty to take part in independent research projects. At the end of the summer, students will present a poster on their work.
These programs are open for freshmen, sophomores, and juniors. Application requirements are:
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Completed college-level chemistry courses; courses in general biology are preferred as well but not required
- Two letters of recommendation
- An official transcript submitted to oset@mskcc.org or mailed
Students will be paid $6,000 for the summer. Housing is unavailable.
