Bev, congratulations on your retirement! You have been a remarkable Dean and your support has been pivotal in my time at Carleton. I will continue to draw from your kindness, wise counsel, listening ear and personal attention that have buoyed me through challenging times. I look up to you as a model of leadership – a strong assured woman of integrity – and stylish to boot! Creative solutions, surprises and gifts would rise out of our talks in your office. “I would sometimes ask myself, what would Bev do in this situation?” You have carried all of us and this college through so much with your grace, calm, balance, and steady sharp discernment. I wish you the absolute best as you pursue your research and field work and I give back to you the words you said to me at the end of one of our meetings: “Go do something you love today!”
