I’ve enjoyed working with Bev since before I was even hired at Carleton: she was part of the team that interviewed me for my first job in the grants office, and I remember thinking, after we talked, that I’d be lucky to work at a place where I could have conversations like that. Since then, I’ve had many more great conversations with her, and learned an immense amount from her about research and teaching, about how and why Carleton works the way it does, and about the best ways to advance Carleton’s mission – one she has done more than just about anyone to nurture and sustain. The college is better for having had Bev as a student, a professor, and a dean.
