Congratulations, Bev, on an awesome career! I have known you mostly as a Dean rather than a colleague, but in all our interactions I was in awe of your kindness and steadiness and determination.
You have been a great friend to the language lecturers, helping clarify status and contracts with fairness and attentiveness to the good of all and of the College. Thank you so very much for listening, guiding, supporting and holding the line when warranted. Under your mentorship, Carleton now stands among the fairer institutions for adjunct faculty.
And thank you for always bringing up the personal side to each issue, with humor often, and for tackling complex situations with patience and humanity.
I will miss you, but actually hope to be be able to stop and chat with you in the streets of Northfield, when you have a bit more time.
