The major in Asian Studies is interdisciplinary and regionally-focused. It is especially suitable for students with an overriding interest in one or more regions of Asia whose academic needs cannot be met by majoring in a regular department. Students who major in regular departments may concentrate in East Asian Studies or South Asian Studies.

Minors in East Asian Studies and in South Asian Studies provide an opportunity for students majoring in traditional departments to bring focus to their choice of electives. Interested students should discuss their plans with the coordinators.
