Our mission is to provide writing support and guidance to Carleton’s multilingual (also know as ESOL or L2) students, and to help them develop as independent writers and thinkers. Multilingual students (international and U.S.) may work one-on-one for an entire term with a trained and experienced writing consultant who will be available to provide support for one or two hours per week. Writing consultants work as facilitators, collaborating with students at any stage of the writing process, and provide feedback on content, form, and language.
If you are working to strengthen your writing in academic English, you can make a one-time appointment in the Writing Center here! If you would prefer to meet for an hour or two each week throughout the term, please contact Melanie Cashin, Coordinator of Multilingual Writing.
If you have multilingual students (international or domestic) who might benefit from working regularly with a writing tutor, please contact Melanie Cashin.
Visit the TLP Writing Consultants website to submit reflective reports about TLP experiences and strategies and participate in a forum for sharing ideas, questions, announcements, and resources with the other consultants.
