Our mission is to provide writing support and guidance to Carleton’s multilingual (also know as ESL, EFL, or L2) students, and to help them develop as independent writers and thinkers. Multilingual students (international and U.S.) may work one-on-one for an entire term with a trained and experienced writing consultant who will be available to provide support for one or two hours per week. Writing consultants work as facilitators, collaborating with students at any stage of the writing process, and provide feedback on content, form, and language.

For Students

We offer a variety of services for students wanting to strengthen their academic writing, including one-time appointments in the Writing Center, one-on-one meetings with Melanie, and recurring meetings with a peer consultant in the Term-Long Program!

If you would like to meet with Melanie or set up recurring meetings with a peer consultant, please contact Melanie Cashin, Coordinator of Multilingual Writing Support.
