Our mission is to provide writing support and guidance to Carleton’s English as a Second or Other Language (ESOL) students, and to help them develop as independent writers and thinkers. Multilingual students (international and U.S) may work one-on-one for an entire term with a trained and experienced writing consultant who will be available to provide support for one to three hours per week. Writing consultants work as facilitators, collaborating with students at any stage of the writing process, and provide feedback on content, form, and language.
If you are working to strengthen your writing in academic English, we look forward to working with you in the Writing Center! If you would prefer to meet for an hour or two each week throughout the term, please contact Renata Fitzpatrick, Second Language Writing Coordinator. Learn more about our student resources.
If you have multilingual students (international or domestic) who might benefit from working regularly with a writing tutor, please contact Renata Fitzpatrick. Learn more about our faculty resources.
