What does an Academic Skills Coach do?

Academic Skills Coaches wear multiple hats. They work shifts in the Academic Support Center, meeting 1:1 with students to assist with time management and study skills. They facilitate Accountability Groups, creating space and time for students to work on homework or other projects. Coaches also lead in-class and optional workshops focused on academic skills development.

Why become an Academic Skills Coach?

Employment as an Academic Skills Coach provides many opportunities for academic and professional development. Skills Coaches learn more about effective learning and study strategies, which they can share with their peers. And they fill a real need on campus.
