Arts Resources & Facilities

  • Rehearsal & Performance Spaces

    The Weitz Center is home to multiple performance and rehearsal spaces, from a 400-seat performance hall, to a flexible 200-seat black box theater, to several studio and gallery spaces.
  • Gould Library Exhibitions

    Gould Library hosts exhibitions that bring visitors into daily contact with works of art, artifacts, and natural objects in a spirit of discovery and learning.
  • Humanities Center

    The Humanities Center cultivates research, collaborations, events, and creative thinking in the humanities to enrich Carleton intellectual and cultural life.
  • Music Resource Center

    The Music Resource Center (MRC) houses the Music Department’s curricular resource collection, including scores, reference books, and recordings.
  • Musical Instrument Library

    The Instrument Library loans a variety of instruments to students currently participating in music courses, free of charge. The Instrument Library also contains sheet music available to students and faculty for chamber ensembles.
  • Perlman Teaching Museum

    The Perlman Teaching Museum connects fine art to the liberal arts through exhibitions, public programs, and curricular collaborations. The museum facility offers two beautiful galleries off the Weitz Center Commons, and support spaces including a classroom, art collection storage, preparation studios and more.
  • Studio Art Facilities

    Carleton has specialized studios for ceramics, metalsmithing, painting, paper arts, photography, printmaking, sculpture, woodworking and drawing.
  • Visual Resources Collection

    The Carleton Visual Resources Collection houses a library of more than 140,000 slides of works from the history of art and architecture, and is also where the digital image collection is created using large format scanners, slide scanner and digital copy photography stand.
