Lynne Sachs Documentary Screening: Tip of My Tongue

Lynne Sachs is a experimental documentary film-maker based in New York. Her films have been featured at the Sundance Film Festival, New York Film Festival, Toronto Images Film Festival and others. In addition, she has been supported by the Guggenheim, Rockefeller, and NY State Council for the Arts. Sachs has worked in creating unique documentaries focusing on historical memories and lived experiences of people throughout the world- such as Israel, Vietnam, Bosnia, Germany, and Vietnam. She uses film to reflect on personal experiences of war. Lynne Sachs is brought to Carleton through the International Film Forum. Her documentary “Tip of My Tongue” will be introduced by herself and Cecilia Cornejo. This documentary was created through Sachs bringing 12 New Yorkers, born in different places but around the same time, into conversation about the events that shaped their lives. Her film explores some of the most formative events of the second half of the 1900s, seen through personal stories and conversation. This introduction and screening will take place in the Weitz Cinema, Monday May 13 from 7-9PM
