Gordon Bock is a world-renowned pianist from Wales. Back’s first distinguished performance was in 1978 with Dong-Suk Kang in Alice Tully Hall in New York. Since then he has traveled the world and recorded with respected artists such as Aaron Rosand, Yo Yo Ma, Josef Suk, and many more. Back now provides master classes at the Cleveland Institute of Music, Curtis Institute, and the Royal Northern College of Music.

 The St. Olaf Band Concert

The St. Olaf band’s fall performance is scheduled for this coming Sunday. The St. Olaf Band was established at the college in 1891 and has been a respected musical entity on campus ever since. Timothy Mahr is the band’s conductor and has been with the band since 1994. The band’s fall performance on St. Olaf’s campus is the conclusion of its fall tour that has brought music to various locations around the counry including Las Vegas, Denver, and Albuquerque, to name a few.

The St. Olaf Cantorei

The St. Olaf Cantorei, directed by James Bobb, will be holding their annual fall concert this coming Sunday. The Cantorei is one of seven co-curricular choirs at St. Olaf and was established to maintain the choral tradition of the college. The group typically sings at religious services and churches in the area. The goal of the Cantorei is to hone their sound and allow their audiences to be enjoy a spiritual experience at worship services.
