Community Open House for Weitz Center Addition

5 September 2017

Carleton invites the community to an open house on Sunday, September 17 to view the recently completed music and performance addition to the Weitz Center for Creativity. The open house will be held from 2–4 p.m. and light refreshments will be served in the Weitz Center Class of 1980 Commons.

The addition at the Weitz Center houses the majority of the music program and creates a new performance space of high acoustic quality to replace the existing Concert Hall. These facilities support a broad range of curricular and co-curricular music and performance needs and further integrate creativity across the disciplines as rehearsal spaces, the music resource library, and teaching studios are included in the project.

“The Weitz Center is a unique and beautiful facility,” says Joe Hargis, associate vice president for external relations. “It not only supports our educational mission, it is a community asset. Since its opening in 2011, community members have taken full advantage of the many free public events at the Weitz Center. The new music and performance space will provide even more opportunities for our friends and neighbors to enjoy the rich array of programing and performances we offer.”
