Artists at Work: ORPHEUS UNSUNG
28 March 2016Over Spring break, a team of artists led by director/video artist Mark deChiazza and composer Steve Mackey used the Weitz Center Theater as a laboratory for the creation of their multi-disciplinary new performance piece, ORPHEUS UNSUNG. The artists share a work in progress showing of the work on Monday, March 28th at 7:30 p.m. at the Weitz.

Working With Yoshida and Her Assistants
19 January 2016On a Friday afternoon, a Carleton student joins Ayomi Yoshida and her assistants in tedious task of assembling over 100,000 cherry blossom cut-outs into a larger collage that will be a part of the upcoming installation show.

Chinese pipa player Gao Hong and klezmer violiinist Steven Greenman were unexpectedly asked to improvise together at a folk music festival. That sparked a musical collaboration that will be showcased this Friday, January 15 in the Carleton Concert Hall.

“Accidental Melodies” spring concert
27 May 2015On Friday, May 29, two of Carleton’s student-run a cappella groups will hold their spring showcase in The Cave. The Accidentals, which is an all-female group, will be teaming up with Intertwining Melodies, one of Carleton’s co-ed groups, to present “Accidental Melodies”. The performance will begin at 8:00PM. Josh Davids ’15 presents: An Iliad
15 April 2015Before graduation, all students at Carleton are required to complete a Comprehensive Project, otherwise known as COMPS. As part of their COMPS projects, theater majors have the unique opportunity to direct and act in their own presentations of famous plays. An interview with Josh Davids ’15 details the hard work that senior theater majors put into their final projects. Josh will be performing An Iliad, a theatrical rendition of the Greek classic.

Debut of “Skylarks: The Jukebox Recital”
6 March 2015Nora Katz ’16 will be presenting a self-written musical play for her junior music recital on March 9–10 in the Weitz Center Theater. Knightingales Take the Cave Stage
3 March 2015The Knightingales, or the Gales for short, were the first all-female a cappella group to grace Carleton campus and have been a strong musical presence on campus for over three decades.
