Carleton welcomes internationally renowed artist and activist Pedro Reyes

11 September 2025

Carleton’s Department of Art and Art History and the Office of the Director of the Arts are proud to welcome internationally renowned artist and activist Pedro Reyes to campus this Fall. Mr. Reyes’s visit is made possible by the Ward G. Lucas Lecture in the Arts, an endowed fund designed to bring renowed “makers and doers” to our Northfield community.

Two public events will be a part of his visit: on Tuesday, September 23, he will lead a community workshop titled “Amendment to the Amendment,” a participatory event focused on gun control. Full details are available here. And on Wednesday, September 24, he will deliver the Lucas Lecture in the Arts at 6:00 p.m. in the Weitz Cinema, followed by a ceremonial tree-planting, reception and the opening of his exhibition in the Perlman Teaching Museum.

All events are offered at no charge, and are open to the public.
