A TEMPEST-uous week!

The week of October 24th, enjoy a raging storm of Shakespearean events in the Weitz Center! 

Beginning Monday, October 24th, in White Space 148, enjoy BRAVE NEW WORLDS, an exhibition prepared by Assistant Professor of English Pierre Hecker.  You’ll see a variety of published editions of THE TEMPEST, histories of TEMPEST productions at Carleton, and an intriguing selection of objects related to Shakespeare’s time and theatrical milieu.

On Wednesday, October 26th at 7:30 p.m. in the Cinema,  take a look at Julie Taymor’s 2010 film adaptation of this magical play.  Helen Mirren stars, along with a host of acting luminaries.

And then on Thursday the 27th, the main event:  the first production in the new Theatre at the Weitz.  THE TEMPEST begins at 7:30 p.m. – directed by distinguished alum Ed Berkeley, with a set design by a class led by Associate Professor of Art Stephen Mohring, and a large cast of Carleton’s finest actors.  The show continues Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday at 2:00 p.m.  Reservations (507) 222-4471 or go.carleton.edu/tempres
